End of the Trail Lodge is located at 1119 Jerry's Branch, just outside Clintwood, Virginia in beautiful Dickenson County. The lodge is the perfect accommodation for those seeking a back to nature getaway that includes all the comforts of home. Our lodge offers privacy for romantic getaways, honeymoons and anniversaries. Our 50+/- acres provide room for family vacations and large groups. We have ample parking for ATV riders plus a run-in shed with pasture for horse folks. Those brave enough to challenge the Russell Fork will enjoy grilling with friends after a day on the white water.  Guests seeking a retreat from the busy city will appreciate the tranquility of the neighborhood.  Our majestic sun rises and sun sets are appreciated by all! 

The land on which the lodge is built has been in the family for 5 generations. Our roots run deep in these mountains, from the Civil War to theTrail of the Lonesome Pine, our ancestors were there.  End of the Trail Lodge is furnished with many family heirlooms and antiques. Adorning the walls are pictures of ancestors, the kitchen showcases great granny's "fine china," and the living room sports grand pappy's moonshine jugs! The master bedroom cedar furniture was hand crafted in the 1960's. The lodge itself was completed in 1967, when our family began. It served us well and now that we are grown, we would like to share its charm with you.

At End of the Trail Lodge, we are committed to preserving our planet for future generations to enjoy.  We are now using environmentally friendly, natural, or recycled products whenever possible.  Although we are not "green", we are working towards that goal.

While staying at End of the Trail Lodge, you will be greeted by many of End of the Trail Ranch's appaloosa horses.  End of the Trail Ranch produces world class foals.  Our foals not only have excellent conformation, but also possess a natural ability.  Our foals are bred to be versatile, easy keepers.  From ranch work, endurance riding or competative trail riding to team penning, cutting or reining,  our foals will be up to the task.

End of the Trail Ranch stands a world class stallion in Cherokee Arrowhead aka Head Man.  Head Man is not only a breeding stallion but is also used for various ranch work by Circle S Livestock.  Head Man's wonderful dispoisition, natural ability and heartiness is passed on to his offspring. 

Our mares have been carefully chosen for more than their pedigrees.  Their attitudes, agility, conformation and heartiness have also been considered.
